The Padel Club, the UK’s leading padel club operator, announces plans to open a major new indoor club at a prominent retail park destination in Sheffield, with 5 indoor courts and potential for 2 further outdoor courts.

The Sheffield development will feature five state-of-the-art indoor courts under a soaring 10+ metre roof, ensuring year-round play in a vibrant social setting. Plans are also being explored for an additional two outdoor courts at the site, creating one of the most versatile padel destinations in the region.

The Padel Club is excited to announce that they are opening their first facilities in Yorkshire mirroring the success that the club has achieved at Trafford City, Gloucester Quays, Cheltenham and Wilmslow. Sheffield, a city filled with sporting heritage and pride is part of a big expansion for the The Padel Club which has also announced venues in Liverpool, Brighton and Handforth Dean, with many more nationwide.

“Sheffield has a proud sporting heritage, and padel is the perfect addition to that tradition. Our vision is to deliver a facility that gives people the very best playing environment while also creating a vibrant community space where new friendships and connections can grow. Having a mix of indoor and outdoor courts also ensures our players can enjoy padel all year round.” Kris Ball, CEO of The Padel Club.

Since its founding in 2022, The Padel Club has been at the forefront of providing community-focused sport and entertainment matched with world-leading facilities. Sheffield will build on that reputation, offering a venue that is both a sporting hub and a social destination.

With Sheffield’s rich sporting history and community, figures like former England cricket captain, Michael Vaughan have been all-in on Padel in recent years and have been instrumental in helping the sport to grow from a small following just a few years ago to today’s fastest growing sport in the UK.

“I like to think that we bring the perfect blend of club identity matched community spirit. For anyone who enters our facilities they are getting something that is really thought about. From being able to meet new people, get coaching, to playing padel with strangers – who end up becoming friends – and doing something that is fun and competitive.”

A spokesperson close to the project added:

“Padel is already attracting interest from across Sheffield’s sporting community. This development will not only provide world-class facilities but also help to introduce thousands of people to a sport that is fast, social, and accessible to all.”

The Padel Club will announce the exact retail park location in news updates over the coming weeks.
