The Padel Club announces five new UK destinations as part of major national expansion
The Padel Club has announced a bold expansion with five new clubs opening across the country, cementing its position as the leading operator of community-first, world-class padel and racket-sport facilities.
New clubs will open in Sheffield, Liverpool Riverside, Chester, Brighton, and Handforth Dean, each delivering a unique mix of courts, clubhouse facilities and lifestyle amenities tailored to their communities. Together, the developments will add more than 30 new padel courts to The Padel Club network – including indoor, canopy and outdoor options – as well as the introduction of pickleball courts and co-working spaces for the very first time.
The expansion reflects the success of The Padel Club’s Trafford City flagship – the UK’s largest padel development with 11 courts, a purpose-built clubhouse, retail, and food & drink options – and signals the brand’s commitment to setting new standards for racket sports in the UK.
Highlights of the new sites include:
- Liverpool Riverside (Brunswick Dock): 8 courts in a landmark riverfront location with balcony views of the Mersey, building on the buzz of the city’s wider regeneration of Liverpool’s waterfront.
- Sheffield: 5 indoor courts with a 10+ metre roof and potential outdoor expansion, designed to meet the city’s growing appetite for padel within its proud sporting community.
- Chester (Sealand Industrial Estate): 7 premium indoor panoramic courts and 2 seasonal outdoor courts, creating one of the most impressive padel facilities in the country.
- Brighton (Q Leisure, Albourne): 6 courts (4 canopy, 2 outdoor) plus a premium clubhouse, creating one of the South Coast’s standout padel venues.
- Handforth Dean (Brooke Park): A major new hub in Cheshire featuring 5 indoor courts, 3 outdoor courts, and 2 pickleball courts, alongside co-working spaces and premium facilities.
Since its founding in 2022, The Padel Club has been at the forefront of providing community-focused sport and entertainment matched with world-leading facilities. This latest expansion highlights not only the rapid rise of padel but also the growing appetite for social, accessible racket sports across the UK.
Kris Ball, CEO of The Padel Club, said:
“We are building more than clubs – we are creating destinations. Each new site has been carefully chosen to combine world-class courts with social spaces that reflect their communities. From the waterfront in Liverpool to the lifestyle hub at Handforth Dean, these venues show how padel and pickleball can sit at the heart of Britain’s most vibrant towns and cities.”
“Padel has captured the imagination of players of all ages and abilities, and our mission is to make it accessible through premium facilities that people can be proud of. With the addition of pickleball, we are opening the door to even more people discovering the joy of social racket sports.”
