  Job Role: Head Coach – Gloucestershire

The Role:

As the Head Coach of Padel, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of padel coaching and player development at The Padel Club - Gloucester. You will lead a team of coaches, design training programs, and foster a positive and inclusive environment for players of all skill levels. Your passion for padel, effective communication, leadership skills and commitment to excellence, will drive the success of our club.

Responsibilities:

 

  1. Coaching and Training:

    • Develop and implement high-quality coaching programs for players of varying ages and skill levels.

    • Conduct group and individual coaching sessions, focusing on technique, strategy, and fitness.

    • Provide constructive feedback to players to enhance their performance.

  2. Player Development:

    • Identify talented players and nurture their growth within the club.

    • Monitor player progress, track performance metrics, and adjust training plans accordingly.

    • Organize regular tournaments, leagues, and inter-club matches to promote player development and competition.

  3. Team Management:

    • Lead and mentor assistant coaches, ensuring they follow club guidelines and coaching standards.

    • Schedule coaching staff, manage workloads, and oversee daily operations.

    • Foster a positive team culture and encourage collaboration among coaches.

  4. Club Promotion and Outreach:

    • Collaborate with the marketing team to promote padel programs and events.

    • Engage with members, prospective players, and the local community to raise awareness of the club.

    • Represent the club at regional and national padel events.

    • Work with wider team to deliver corporate events and media opportunities.

 

  1. Facility Maintenance:

    • Work closely with the club management to maintain the padel courts, equipment, and facilities.

    • Ensure a safe and clean environment for players and coaches.

  2. Professional Development:

    • Stay updated on padel coaching techniques, rules, and trends.

    • Attend coaching workshops, conferences, and certification programs.

    • Feel comfortable talking to large groups, potential tv, radio and media outlets.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Padel coaching certification (national or international) is required.

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of coaching experience, preferably as a head coach/ programme management.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

    • Strong knowledge of padel techniques, tactics, and game strategies.

    • Ability to motivate and inspire players.

    • Organisational and administrative abilities.

    • Proficiency in English

The Role:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to lead our club to continued success, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our operations. This broad-based position also involves ensuring the smooth running of the club and delivering exceptional experiences for all players and guests.

Responsibilities:

 

  • Leadership & Management:

    • Provide strategic direction and vision for the club, setting goals and objectives aligned with the overall company mission and values.

    • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

    • Oversee daily operations, ensuring efficient and cost-effective management of all departments, including padel instruction, rentals, events, food & beverage, and retail.

 

  • Health and Safety

    • Take ownership of all health and safety within the club.

    • Ensure all risk assessments are up to date and club specific.

    • Follow up all accidents/incidents and near misses within 48hrs and update risk assessments, policies and procedures as needed.

    • Use our safety systems daily to manage all relevant tasks, risk assessments, reviews, policies, and procedures.

 

  • Financial Management:

    • Develop and manage the annual operating budget, monitoring financial performance and implementing strategies to achieve financial goals.

    • Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory management.

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

 

  • Player Experience:

    • Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain players, fostering a strong sense of community and loyalty.

    • Oversee player services, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for all players and guests.

    • Manage and resolve player concerns and complaints in a professional and timely manner.

 

  • Food & Beverage & Retail:

    • Oversee the food & beverage and retail operations, ensuring quality products and services are offered to players and guests.

    • Develop and manage menus, pricing strategies, and inventory management for the food & beverage program.

    • Manage the selection and purchasing of merchandise for the retail shop.

 

  • Sales:

    • Develop programs and services available to the local community.

    • Build relationships with local businesses and organisations to expand the club's reach.

    • Oversee the sales process for classes, courses, lessons, events, and equipment rentals.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the sports or hospitality industry.

  • Proven experience in managing a multi-departmental operation.

  • Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.

  • Passion for the padel sports industry and a strong understanding of member needs and expectations.
