The Padel Club announces a new 5 court club in Wynyard Park, North East.

The Padel Club, one of the country’s fastest growing Padel club brands, is launching 5 courts at Wynyard Park. The 5 courts will be purposely designed and built for the ultimate in padel player experience – the club will be getting the full The Padel Club treatment, designed to foster incredible play and community.

Known for its large woodlands, footpaths, cycle routes, a play area, tearoom, planetarium and observatory, Wynyard Park is going to be home to the next centre stage of sports, Padel. The world’s fastest growing sport is coming to Wynyard Park.

Established in 2022, The Padel Club has been at the forefront of the sport’s development in the UK with clubs in the North West and recently announcing plans to build in Trafford City and Gloucester to spread the name of the game and the club in exclusive developments around the country. The Padel Club was awarded as the Leading Newcomer of The Year at the This is Manchester awards and has had a significant impact on growing the sport in the Greater Manchester region and improving the overall quality of player experience.

The Padel Club has firmly established itself with its trademark vision:
“We don’t see Padel as just another racket sport or something you do when you can’t find the tennis courts. Padel to us is an incredible sport in itself; but for The Padel Club it’s also about community.”

“We have built a model that not only encourages people of all ages and abilities to play, but to also meet new people, play in different competitions and whilst they may come as first-timers, leave as friends.” Kris Ball, CEO of The Padel Club.

With strong ties to the community, local activities and sport playing a key role for the people in and around Wynyard Park, the Padel Club is going to develop 5 purpose-built courts and facilities which will help to foster a thriving community spirit.

“Our mission is to expand our brand of playing experience across the country. For Wynyard Park and the North East, we want to bring Padel to as many people as possible, increasing the number of players in the sport - like we have in Greater Manchester - which we have seen first-hand help create incredible community spirit.”

Helios are delighted to welcome The Padel Club to their Wynyard Park site. The new facility will be a great addition to the area which focuses on high quality, design-led principles to create one of the most successful mixed-use sites in the region. The introduction of the 5 court scheme comes at the same time as building work commences on our new retail core, and approved planning for a further 1,200 homes in line with its Garden Village status.

Development Director, Natalie Lever, says “we are very pleased to have agreed terms with The Padel Club on our site. Padel is an increasingly popular sport and I’m sure the new facility will be well received by residents and visitors to Wynyard Park.”

A planning application has now been submitted for 5 padel courts, (4 with canopy) and a clubhouse. We are hoping to break ground by the end Q1 of 2025 with a view to being open before next Summer, working together with the local community and industry specialists who have brought only the highest quality standards to the clubs in the North West.

“We understand and deeply value the historic treasure that is Wynyard Park. The team at The Padel Club will work to bring together not only the best facilities to play this incredible game but also, introduce many of the secret ingredients that make our vision for Padel so special and unique, making it accessible to all. The customer experience is essential for us and we feel that between the coaching, the courts and the facilities, we have something to be overwhelmingly proud about.” Kris Ball, CEO, The Padel Club.
