Winner of This Is Manchester Awards 2023 ‘Leading Newcomer’

The Padel Club are very proud to announce that we are This is MCR Award's Leading Newcomer!

The Padel Club launched July 2022, being the first Padel exclusive sports club to invite players on court in the North-West. The Club had a great launch, initially we had 2 courts, that were booked at a very high occupancy rate and very positive feedback from players - that demand meant we doubled the number of courts to 4 in a matter of months. The Club have been critical to the exponential growth of Padel player participation in the Cheshire, Greater Manchester and the entire UK.

The Club has attracted over 5000 unique players which demonstrates both the desire to try Padel for the first time and the obvious positive obsession that Padel has with players, committing to play the sport frequently. With the expansion of Wilmslow site to 8 courts this year and later TraffordCity with 11 courts, the volume of players will increase significantly. Driving more players on court across Greater Manchester and many more positive experiences for our players.

The Padel Club team have brought skill and expertise in the sport of Padel to the area. The leadership team come with vast experience from premium racquet clubs and have transferred this into the padel world. There are 5 coaches at the Club who are LTA Accredited in padel coaching and development. This makes the Club an authority in the sport which is substantiated by the team’s professional qualifications in Padel.

Padel is a sport that all sports players can play, develop and compete in. The social media reach and engagement of influencers, sports athletes and teams have increased visibility of Padel play and The Padel Club brand, collectively. This strategy is high performing with collaborative reels and posts achieving between 100-200k plays or views, which is driving a high level of interest and demand in more players at the Club.

The Padel Club has successfully collaborated with Manchester Originals men's and women's team, who played Padel for the first time on the Clubs courts. ITV news covered the feature, and it was aired on ITV on the 4th of August. This is the first time a Northern Padel Club has featured in television media, bringing attention to Padel locally and nationally.

Jos Buttler, Captain of Manchester Originals, played at the club on a separate occasion in his social time and the reel of this visit has been viewed over 260k times.

Salford City Football Club, the Sky Bet League Two football club, coached a padel intro and played a tournament at the Club. The team’s Head Coach and Head Physiotherapist discussed the fitness, conditioning and mental well-being of sport, particularly football and the same positive effects that playing Padel would have on players.

The Padel Club promotes a sense of social connectiveness and group belonging for the players and the club does not exclude people by way of membership. The Club has a very strong, sociable community that welcomes everyone; new players and of all ages, skill levels. Padel, with its growing popularity, brought to the North-West can be attributed to the Club. It has become more than just a sport; it has evolved into a social phenomenon that brings players together.

The positive impacts on mental health and well-being are well documented and supported by research, however at the Club, we are hearing testaments to this first-hand.

With the high demand for Padel play by our local players, and driving interest in wider reach of people, The Padel Club has plans to build more courts in the Wilmslow Club expansion and next site build at TraffordCity.

Manchester is the city destination for sport and innovation, demonstrating growth and opportunity throughout the decades. This makes Manchester the obvious chosen destination for The Padel Club, to launch Padel in the UK. Manchester has a vibrant social scene, a very well connected and supported network of individuals from every background and status. This inclusive and progressive community and culture of the City attracts the best brands and their audiences, local investors with experience of leading MCR based business.

Manchester, and Greater Manchester has a thriving business district. It has become the UK’s second capital for business, finance, media and fashion, boasting the most Entrepreneural and world-dominating brands. Manchester plays host to the best sports teams, concerts, gigs and festivals all year round. The Padel Club chose Manchester, albeit launching in Greater Manchester / Cheshire for all the reasons: community, business and ultimately the perfect site, and its availability. Wilmslow echoes those reasons, in an out-of-city location.

The Padel Club are proud to announce a further £2m investment in Trafford, and the Manchester community by securing a 2nd site at TraffordCity, due to be built 2024. The 1.5-acre development will include 11 courts - nine covered and two open air - with development partner Peel L&P. Meaning that our first 2 destination sites are in Greater Manchester.
