Where to learn more about Padel - without needing a translator!

For those people who are new to padel, or just curious about taking up the sport, you may have noticed that a lot of the content is in foreign languages. Scrolling though social media feeds, we find 99% of content in foreign languages, or with dodgy Google translations! This is due to padel’s huge popularity in Hispanic countries and now in countries across Europe. Over the past couple of years, we have picked up a lot of Spanish as we have continued our research!

No doubt as the sport grows in English speaking countries we will see more and more excellent content (and we have lots of immersive content planned too). So to make things easy for padel newcomers, we would like to share some of our favourite places to learn about padel and to see superb padel content in the English language.

  1. The Padel School: Sandy at The Padel School has been in padel for years and has pumped out a mountain of great padel content, mostly based around coaching and improving your game. So if you want to start by learning the basics, the rules of padel, where to stand and the basic foundation shots of padel, then The Padel School on You Tube is the place to look. Sandy also has an excellent online course that you can get involved in if you’re serious about improving your game.

  2. Everything Padel: is a great new blog and a good source of information about padel. With plenty of reviews on equipment, tips to improve your game and UK padel news, you’ll find plenty of regular content to keep you updated and improve your knowledge of the game. Find the Everything padel blog here. You can also get involved in their Facebook group here where you can connect with lots of UK padel players.

  3. Otro Novel: is an engaging channel on Facebook with fun videos, racquet reviews and tips to improve your game. Sven Boele is a quirky host, who will keep you interested in their content. We enjoy watching the coaching and matchplay tips, which are fun, quirky and keep you entertained!

  4. iPadel: is a UK website ran by Ian Colligan, who has been engaged in padel across the UK for years. This site is an excellent source for information about padel in the UK. If you want to know where your nearest court is, or to find information about UK tournaments, player ratings, padel videos and padel rules then this site is packed with information. You’ll also find lots of information to support you if you are interested in starting a club of your own. Find more info about iPadel here.

  5. The World Padel Tour: On You Tube, you can find thousands of videos and The WPT channels is some of the best content available. Whilst most of it is in Spanish (and probably always will be) they are adding more and more channels with English language and English commentary. So a simple You Tube search, will show you a great selection of World Padel Tour games in English. We are addicted to watching WPT tour videos and I’m sure you will be too!

  6. Hello Padel: Hello Padel offer excellent content in English and have some padel coaching courses coming very soon to the UK. Give them a follow here.

  7. Padel Alto: One that we have only recently discovered is Padel Alto. This is an excellent source of content, with live streamed games with full English commentary. Here’s a link to their website and you will find great content on You Tube.

If we have missed your favourite sources of content, let us know and we will add it to the list!

To drive the next wave of growth in the UK, one of the keys will be more immersive content that entices people to play the game. We are hoping to see more and more high quality video channels, social media groups, and podcasts about padel. So if you’ve been thinking about starting a channel of your own, what are you waiting for?
