Ferrari Drivers Prepare for F1 by Playing Padel Tennis

Adding to the growing number of celebrities, sportsmen and influencers already playing, Ferrari F1 drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc have been preparing for their F1 races recently by playing padel tennis matches! We recently covered how football teams often play the sport to prepare for games, but what is it that is drawing F1 stars to the sport?

We look at some of the many reasons that make padel the perfect sport to prepare for F1, for business, or to get away from the stresses of life in general.

Padel reduces stress levels: F1 driving is a highly stressful and dangerous profession. so it’s not surprising that padel is a welcome break from the day job. As we know, padel is such a fun game and easy to play, so its a great way to get away from whatever it is that is causing you stress, have some fun, increase your endorphins and forget about the day to day. A great workout that takes you away and is bags of fun.

Padel prepares you for other sports & challenges: Not only does padel improve your fitness, movement and general state of mind, but it can also improve your capabilities in other areas. For example padel can be an amazing way to improve your speed and reflexes.

Ferrari F1 driver, Carlos Sainz said in 2020,

“I’ve been starting to play [padel] a lot to prepare for Formula 1. I like working on my reflexes [and] thinking fast under pressure.”

You can see the video of Carlos paying padel with Paquito Navarro by cicking here.

So if you are into other sports that require speed, agility or lighting fast reflexes, then padel is a great way to prepare, whist having a whole lot of fun in the process!

Padel is fun & sociable: another great benefit of padel is for those who work in teams. There is no better sport for building teams and increasing morale amongst teams. SO for large F1 teams and especially drivers who are often out on their own, padel is a great way to bond with your squad.

That’s why at The Padel Club, we have designed our extensive club to include an incredible team building space, with fun padel sessions included as part of your day and a meeting room for after the fun sessions! This will be a great way for small teams of up to 12 people to get away from the office, bond with their colleagues and clear their mind.
