Why Is Padel The Perfect Sport For Kids?

Across Europe we are seeing thousands of children taking up padel. We have talked a lot about the padel boom amongst adults, but what makes padel the perfect sport for kids too? Arguably it is one of the best activities for children to take up, so what are the key benefits?

Padel develops motor skills and coordination: Padel develops these transferrable skills that can be taken into other sports and into every day life. Starting in padel at an early age is an incredibly fun way to develop reaction skills, coordination, speed, agility and movement. Kids can then transfer their new abilities into rugby, football, dancing or other pursuits, or of course continue to develop these skills in becoming future padel champions!

Padel improves confidence and self esteem: As we know, padel is such an easy sport to learn and children can get into playing games easily. So unlike some other sports, in order to play the game kids don’t have to invest thousands of hours just to be able to play. In addition, kids who are just getting into the game can play with others, without a huge void in skill. So picking up and mastering a sport quickly and being able to play with others gives kids a huge boost of confidence.

Padel develops social skills: As we know padel is one of the most social sports around and this is exactly the same for kids. Having padel lessons with groups means they can meet friends and always interact with new people. Padel being played mostly in doubles means they will constantly be meeting new playing partners and opponents.

Padel is an easy sport for families to play together: Even families who have never played the sport before can find it easy to book a court and play together. So this goes even further, by providing families with a low cost* way to have fun together, bonding as a family whilst developing the skills we have mentioned. *Hint: Compare the cost of booking a padel court for an hour with the cost of other activities for a family of 4.

Padel is FUN: It goes without saying, but we all know padel is the most fun game to play. Children absolutely love to play the game and it is a fun, easy way to develop social skills, coordination, agility, confidence and create many happy memories with family and friends.

At The Padel Club, we are developing our facilities and our Padel Cubs programme to be the perfect experience for children and their families.
