David Beckham Posts About Padel to 65 Million Followers

We have previously written about the importance of celebrities and influencers in boosting the growth of padel, particularly here in the UK. But today (and it’s no April fool) David Beckham posted about his love for padel, in an Instagram Post to his 65 million Instagram followers and shortly after to his 55 million Facebook followers!

David said in the post,

Found a new sport 🎾 , back is gonna hurt in the morning but who cares 😀 #LovePaddle

We shouldn’t underestimate how important this is for the growth of the sport. We probably don’t have a total of 1 million followers across all padel accounts in the UK, but this post has been shared globally to over 65 million followers and that is incredible.

Instantly this post has been shared widely and will encourage people to seek out ways to play padel. Just like the boost for tennis when it is Wimbledon fortnight, influencers playing padel sends another wave of people looking to play the sport!

Also interesting to see that Beckham chose to use the Head Alpha Pro racquet for his game, a great choice!
